Fax Compatability with VoIP
Fax Compatability with VoIP
Article
To maximize faxing reliability over VoIP, it is imperative to slow down the transmission rate to a maximum of 9600 baud, and to disable "Error Correction Mode" or "ECM".
In HP machines, you must set these parameters individually.
In Brother machines, you must change the setting of the "Telephone line interface". Here is an example for one particular Brother model, yours may be the same or slightly different, so reference your user guide if necessary.
Brother Machines:
Adjust the Equalization for compatibility to reduce the modem speed for fax operations.

B. Press a or b to choose "Basic" (for VoIP).
